Decided to mix it up and try Tips Tester, Flask, and Fence Post because they can all use the same loading pin. First time trying any of them. Had 161 lb added for one hand Tips Tester, got it off the floor, immediately heard a loud crack/pop from the middle finger of my left hand, and dropped the weight. This morning a hand specialist confirmed what I suspected...A4 pulley rupture but decent range of motion (maybe two degrees off). MRI a week from today should clarify how bad it really is...but leftie will be taking at least a six week hiatus from lifting anything....best case scenario. Ugh, this is terrible news. I'm really sorry to hear this. This officially confirms that I will never do any kind of heavy crimp movements... Looks like it's time to train your right hand like crazy! 2

Hindsight 20/20, I should have been happy 150 lb total and not gone for a max lift the first time with such a finger focused lift. I simply didn't realize the risk and paid the price. As for right hand training, looks like I'll have some time to devote to grippers. Definitely some pinch stuff. But NO CRIMP.
Douglas Carney
Hub Lifting Marcy 35 plus Magnets (47.90lb Total) 09-18-2024 Finally bought a better plate for hubbing...a Marcy 35. And thankfully it's totally different than the slick and sloped hub on my Ivankos. I was even able to add a little bit of weight to it...but it slipped out at the last second. Decent start...but a long way to go to keep up with my friends that are great at it. Musical Inspiration: "Crash" by Methods of Mayhem from the album "Methods of Mayhem" released in December 1999.

Douglas Carney
In other right hand only news, I fiddled with grippers after hubbing yesterday. Gap in my Silarukov 100 (RGC 117) TNS attempts still felt a mile wide. One day, though...

Fist of Fury
Sorry to see you got injured. Those fingertip lifts are risky business for sure. I hope you recover quickly from it, stay strong 2

Not as sensitive this morning, so hoping for good news next week.

Rightie is good to go for grippers, pinch, whatever. But unfortunately one-hand lifts with my left and two-hand lifts are out for at least six weeks based on my initial doctor's visit.
Douglas Carney
Finally got around to Step 1 of organizing and cataloging my gripper collection. Today I put together a list of FORTY gripper that I need to have rated by @Cannon. Step 2 is to install additional hooks in the wood shelves in my gym (on the cable attachment side behind the trap bar) and start hanging the loose, rated grippers I currently have sitting on IronMind caddies. Step 3 will be to enter those into a spreadsheet to be merged with the list I created for Matt. And finally Step 4 will be to work in the grippers that come back from Minnesota based on their ratings. I'm sure my wife would appreciate a Step 5 to downsize by selling off any duplicates but I need to see where I land first.

Douglas Carney
Finally caught up on watching some grip videos last night. One of them was @Jedd Johnson's "Inch Clean Training 9/7/24." Don't know why I never noticed that he stuck PlateMates on his reverse hyper machine to have them handy. But I am totally copying that idea to save some shelf space!

Ive been thinking of buying a reverse hyper machine myself… I will ask him and you, do you think it would be a good investment for me for and my lower back?

I love it...more for the stretch and restoration/recuperation feel after hitting my posterior chain with other exercises than for strength building alone.
