unbraced bending with a weak sternum

I don't have much experience in short steel bending or anything like that. but it's surely a great exercise for the wrists, full body tension and building confidence. I'm practicing a martial art where we take alot of punches to the chest area, the sternum is particularily sore after a session. I was wondering if there were any risks for the sternum area when bending spikes etc. not just for someone lacking technique like me, but for other benders in general. I've heard of braced benders hurting their femur bone, but i'm not sure if i've read anything about what i'm asking.

tldr; can short steel bending be dangerous for someone with a weak sternum

Short answer, no. I don’t see how you could hurt your sternum doing double overhand bending.

Agreed. Unless the chest activation on crushes bothers the area.

The area gets bothered on the crushdown, but that's only on the day after martial arts training. So I guess i'm in the clear.
