I believe Randall shot it down because it didn't go by the traditional penny nail increments, this was before I even certed the red and I was still a noob. Its weird because I'm not sure where the green and white come into play. 60d blue 70d red 80d gold id love to see it happen. I'd cert it tomorrow, but Im not sure if Randall will go for it. I have no idea of how I would do with the "Black Nail," but for sure, would be attempting to bend, and then cert it. This would likely be beyond my range, especially at where I am now, and being on the wrong side of 40, but the creation of the Black would give me an end-bend which I would go after with everything I have left in the tank. I really think something like this would create a lot of excitement. I was super-excited 3-4 years ? ago when it was brought up the first time, and am still excited about it (though less likely to bend it compared to then). As a matter of the dimensions, I don't know what would be better, a slightly thicker diameter bar at 7" or something a little more imposing at 7.5". If the Black Nail is designed to be "the next step up" from the Red, then maybe an "in-between" bar shouldn't matter. Yes it fizzled out but I'm hoping with enough encouragement and support it might change. Who knows. 'IM' have run a successful business for a long time so I imagine they must also recognize the need for a 3.5 equivalent. Maybe they just need another push to look into it again.
