All-in-all, a pretty good meet.  For the past several months, I've been hovering around 187-188 and was having some trouble dropping down closer to 180 so decided to gain some pounds and compete at a more natural 198.  Weighed-in at 194 without cutting.

This was my first raw full power meet in almost ten years.  In the past, as I've gotten older and accrued injuries, it has gotten harder-and-harder to train raw for a duration.  Thus, single-ply has been my go-to for a long time, mainly to compete relatively healthy.  However, leading up to this meet, I felt mostly OK raw, so decided to try.

I opened pretty conservatively with squats.  Both knees can be unpredictable but the opener felt super easy.  Sticking with the plan, 350 and 375 both felt pretty light.  I think I would've been good for 395-405 for my 3rd attempt.  The bench they were using was a little slick which messed up my positioning.  I just couldn't get a solid base on any attempt.  All three attempts felt strong though.  I got the 310 with a pause and pressed it pretty good but had some hip movement off the bench and was red-lighted.  

I think I opened a little too low on deadlift.  The 425 was way too easy for the opener.  In retrospect, I should've gone 440-500-.  The 465 was a little slow which is why I took 480 for my final attempt.  If I had opened with 440 and made a jump to 500, I think it would've went.  The goal is to get back to 500, under 200lbs. bodyweight and over age 50.

The 555 attempt felt like a ton of bricks.  Started the pull and got no movement for the first few seconds.  After the initial few seconds, I started to get it up but couldn't hold onto it.  I waited for a few minutes and then took the same weight again.  It was tough but I was a little more aggressive in the set-up and ended-up getting a decent rep.
