Man I wonder what his wrist roller looked like, his sledge work is out of this world One of a kind unique, will likely never see this prototype man again. Slim worked with a hammer everyday (busting up rocks and lifting rocks all day), for years and years. He owns a massive skeletal build, and he was obsessed. A perfect storm in many respects to produce someone off the charts. A true freak of nature in the most respected use of the word. Honestly I doubt someone training on the side in a gym could achieve similar results, no matter what equipment they had. With that said, it won't matter if you owned all the equipment he ever used. For all the trash talking people have done on the web against Slim, no one has come remotely close to topping his known and documented numbers. Forget all the speculation, who is even close to the well documented lifts he has done? No one. Not even men who are far larger. Slim is not the strongest man ever in the same way Kaz may have been one of the strongest men ever, but he is certainly the strongest specialist in his field of interest ever. With all that gibber jabber from me said- just get a IM or Sorinex wrist roller and go to town

His DVD is the best source of information concerning "workouts", as I don't believe anything else exists on the subject. He is an EXTREMELY tough interview, so on the DVD, his talking is as good as you are going to get. The chapter on him in the Mighty Atom biography is decent. For free, there are some old articles here and there on the Internet, mostly written by Vic Boff many years ago that are quite good. And, the latest is the September 2011 issue of MILO, a 2700 word article written by me. Every bit of that article was provided by my personally witnessing or speaking to him. No "books or magazines or internet" sources, no third parties. As I said, he is a very tough interview. Although there may not be a lot of new information on his strength accomplishments, there is plenty of new information as to his background and life that may be the first time they have appeared in print. jad
What Adam said AND Slim's numbers are what he did for a show. Think about that. If you're doing a show for your church, your buddies, or even a local fair, do you attempt PRs or do you go with stuff you know you can do with ease. climber511
I've had the pleasure of talking to him on the phone and meeting him as well - I shook his hand and he can practically "touch" around my hand (which is not exactly a little hand). And his hand has no softness to it - the whole thing feels kind of like bone - they are the darnest things I have ever seen. And even today and at his age - they is no one who can ever begin to do the things he can still do with the hammers. Adam's description of a "perfect storm" is a perfect way to explain him. About the only thing Adam didn't mention is the crazy mental attitude he had/has. It's a sort of "I will either do this thing or die" sort of thing that I have only seen in a very very few people in my life. Perfect Storm - no - Perfect Class 5 Hurricane is more like it.
