Not The Optimal Temperature...

Not much humidity here in Montana - usually 30% or less. I nearly always train in my basement room (man cave, courage corner, etc.) where the humidity is even less. Temps there stay between 55 to 70 degrees, even though outside temps run from -40 to 103. I seldom sweat when training my grip. I have to admit my grip training goes better when it is a touch warmer and there is a little more moisture on my hands. When I am going for max attempts, I sometimes warm up my hands by running them under hot water for a couple minutes prior to and during training and then towel off. It leaves my hands warm, supple and slightly tacky. I then add a little chalk and go for it.

I feel for you guys training in high humidity and heat. I just couldn't handle it. I once took a trip to Orlando Florida in early September. I thought I would die from the heat and humidity. I tried to stay indoors where it was climate controlled. I am a wussy when it comes to heat and humidity.

Dry in Montana,

Tom

Sounds like an opportunity to me. I remember that some of the mountain bikers in the Atlanta Summer Games had to train on bike rollers in saunas to prepare for the Georgia heat and humidity. You get that at no extra cost!
