Annual Benders' Get-together?

I've just been thinking how darn cool it would be for benders to meet once a year and spend a weekend competing, showing off, exchanging ideas and feats, trading stock and wraps, and ingesting large quantities of food and drink. Something along the lines of AOBS, but less formal. Maybe Saturday could be a contest with all sorts of separate events, so there would be something for all the specialists. And for those who prefer to compete in an all-around contest, that could be made available, as well. It would need to be a location that would be the most convenient for the majority of benders. Maybe a donation fund could be set up in advance to help with all the various costs, and if not enough money is collected or not enough interest in shown then the money would all be returned. I'm not exactly independently wealthy, but I would save the necessary money to travel pretty much anywhere in the states for an event like this. So who would make a serious effort to do this? And how far would you be willing to travel? Let's suggest some ideas and see if this can get off the ground.

Yeah. Also,

-Fewer 'legends in their own minds'

-Impromptu competitions amongst attendees (so comparisons can be made)

-Fewer people taking Geritol

Fewer people taking Geritol

Rex - If you don't want me to come, just say so - without my Geritol - I couldn't even find the contest :)

I think it is a great idea Eric, but I do not want to compete at the moment. Seems like if I sneeze wrong it affects my game lately and working 7 days a week sure has taken its toll. I still Love Bending Steel and I still have some unattained goals I am going for. Maybe I need more Geritol :)

You guys are fine. I have in mind the white haired codgers that shows up every year wondering if they'll get to see someone bend a "60D spike", yet who have never heard of Paul Knight or Eric Milfeld or Mike Hadland or Aaron Corcorran. That crowd reminds me of those islanders discovered in the 1960's who still thought that WWII was going on.
