mgjenn23
As I get deeper into the wonderful world of bending, the little bundles of nails & bolts seem to reproducing on their own. In my small, one-bedroom apartment, this is becoming an issue (kinda like the gym chalk dust everywhere). My IM bag is bloated with steel and the surrounding tables all have semi-organized assortments of metal, tape measures and protractors. Before I head off to Lowes to peruse the tool boxes, does anyone have any alternate suggestions for storage & organization? Thanks in advance.--Mike
JAU1985
I hope to have this problem someday... what I'd do is get a few cardboard boxes or plastic containers and put your various pieces of steel in them. Mark the containers "Square", "Round", "Hex", "Bolts" etc etc and put all your stuff in there. Have another big box for all the stuff that's already been bent. This should help keep your room a bit more organized and make it easier to find the pieces you want to bend. Cut your tools down to a minimum, a good steel protractor, a caliper, and a good tape measurer. Sell the rest of the stuff, who needs more than one of each really? easyWeight
I store mine in shoe boxes :P I'm going to let my girls make X-mas ornaments out of some of them. Can't remember who else has done this and gave me the idea. I'm going to try to recycle most of it eventually, however. I hope to make some $$$ and buy more stock Edited September 9, 2009 by easyWeight
dansweeney
Back when I started bending, Ben Edwards gave me this fantastic advice. He told me to get an orange 5 gallon bucket from home dedot and a cheap nylon "tool pouch". Put the pouch around the top of the barrel and you have several individual pouches to sort different stock, and a place to thow bent steel! cptnamazin
I make wind chimes out of the bent stuff. I use a horseshoe heart for the base. Tourists and artsy-type stores pay good moneyfor them up here.

Other steels lie around my appartment, except nails are in their boxes. I have one biger bucket, but it is still full of protein.
