I recently was sent a package of 6inch Edgins and BIG g8s paid for by JOONAS and sent by John Beattie.

Ive just bent a cut BIG g8 following your rules for the Steel Slayers List.

Is this bend acceptable for the list with it being fbbc stock sent by John.

I have one BIG g8 left i can send it you if you wish for calibration purposes.

You owned it in every possible way. sub 6". Wraps+bar in a hole slightly bigger than 1". OUTSIDE legds of the bolt under 2". That'll take the first spot and stay there for a long time.

Gazza, but you forgot to use a rubberband to hold the wraps in place :( Just kidding, great job. And i am glad to see the new list will have the best bender in the number 1 slot. :bow:bow:bow

Incredible bend Gazza! :rock:bow

I was looking over the rules for the Steel Slayers lists and Eric has only listed two categories - 7" & 6". According to rule #5 this would fall in the 6" category and you would only be given credit for whatever a 6" piece would calibrate at. Maybe a 5" group needs to be added to the list (not that it would change the ranking of your bend)?

5) For a bend to rank higher than an existing bend it must calibrate at least 20 pounds heavier. The calibration rating attained at the maximum allowable length for both lists is the only rating allowed for ranking, regardless of actual bar length. For example, if you bend a 6.5" section of steel from a batch that calibrates at 500 pounds at 7" you will be given credit for only 500 pounds.

I got curious and looked up calibration data for the big Grade 8 bolts. I don't know if anything shorter than 7" has ever been calibrated but I don't know if Eric's apparatus can handle a 6" (or 5.5") big Grade 8.

7" = 665-685 (we'll call it 675 for an average)

6.5" = 776 (estimated)

6" = 892 (estimated)

5.5" = 1026 (estimated)

Even if you were to only get credit for the 6" I don't see anyone topping that for a long time. :)

Thanks for supporting the list, Gazza, with one of your uniquely paranormal bends. But, please, send me the bolt. I will calibrate it at 6", but make mention on the list that you did it at 5.5". I've seen the 1/4" x 6" grade 8s vary by at least 25 pounds. And those were all "triangles".

How's this g8 compared to a red nail? Anyhow :bow

Btw , whats the name of the song in your videos?

No one know exactly what the difference is yet, but is sounds like he is sent on in to be calibrated. But Gumpster listed earlier it could be approximately 1,026 lbs and i think a red nail of that size may be 500 to 550 lbs. So to sum it up, Gazza's bend of this cut big grade 8 is the best by far by anyone i have ever seen. And to do it in those rags he used makes it a feat that may be on top for a VERY LONG TIME. He has stated that he has been bending for over 7 years, and doing that almost every day, so anything is possible with enough dedication & time.

I wondered the same thing. I knew the lyrics but couldn't find this version. After about 45 min. of looking........Stronger - 30 Seconds to Mars
