Looks like a lot of volume mate! Hope this routine works for you. Chris have you ever tried training using a westside barbell template? I just started this type of routine a few weeks back and was wondering if you have ever done it and had good results.

Hello Steve,

I like all the old time stuff and i think they were stornger then .

The leg extension machine is on a pivot no wires.

Sam,

Your right ,there is a lot of volume , i feel like i've been in a car crash i'm aching so much.

I hav'nt used the Louis Simmons workouts myself, but some of the boys in the gym have trained at Westside with great results.

Agreed. Most of the mainstream modern day routines (for example 100s of sets of isolation exerises) only work if you are taking a lot of gear. What worked 60 or 70 years ago still works best today. I read Brooks Kubik's book dinosaur training a few years ago and this completely changed the way i approach my training. :cool

I assume you've done 20 rep breathing squats before? What was your best ever for a set of 20 done in the way Randall Strossen suggests?

Hi Sam,

No the old super squat routine was HARD !!

I done 440 x 20 , but i think my bet effort was 500 for 17 , i could not of got 18 if their was a fire under my arse !

Also got good results off high rep straight legged deadlift routines.

Gripper workout yesterday looked good i managed to miss that one. Those axle deadlifts are huge mate any training ideas to get this lift up? Progress seems to be really really slow on it for me. 2 years to put 10kg on it!!

Hello Sam,

I do a lot of cleans and highpulls using the hang method on the 2nd rep, try doing these first building from first the power cean , then high pulls and then into your deadlifts. Then tak into the rack and do some partials .

Keep trying Sam , iknow you can do it mate.
