mgjenn23
I'm having fun bending (or trying to bend) nails, horseshoes and spikes but I wanted to try something new. What grade and length of rebar would you recommend for a beginner to start with? Thanks.
luuc
What nails and spikes do you bend?
mgjenn23
I can bend a 60D nail, a SCF Ultralite #2 and almost close the 12" timber spike from FBBC; so I'm still very much a beginner. I appreciate any advice you can offer. Thanks.
luuc
Don't know where you live and what kind of steel there is to be bought around, but you can always try 6mm stuff. If you're just looking for alternatives besides 60D nails; try hot rolled steel (hrs), cold rolled steel (crs), stainless steel, .. Also at 6mm. Hrs is easier then crs, and crs is easier to bend then stainless, rebar is around crs-level, but steel will always vary in strength.
