Very big :blink. Measurements are in pics descriptions area.

I have found this and few more from old car's engine.

Dude, if that is from an engine, it would be at least an G8, but most likely hardened of some kind. Chances are it wont bend, it will break..Be careful if you decide to play with it....If you have an extra, put in in a vise and give it a whirl....see what happens...

I had some 1/4 inch bolts like that and they were harder than a G8.I think Eric cald a 6 inch at like 550 or so.....

John Beatty had some of those in a smaller size a while back and they snapped fairly early and violently for anyone who was strong enough to do it.

We use hex heads all the time to fasten climbing holds onto the climbing wall. They are not expensive enough to be hardened like those used on automobiles. I don't know exactly if they are Grade 5 or what but I think they must not all be hardened. Now how do you tell - I have no clue?
