cberg
yep the current bastard stock is a fair bit harder than the red for sure. For me anyway, the hardest part on those was the kink. Once you get it past 30 degrees or so you should be able to get it
ewokhugo
Adam i believe the trick its to hold the bastard at least 2-3 seconds before to explode.
Adam Moyers
My back has gotten worse. I went to the doctor today after work and he says its a strained muscle. It has formed a pretty good knot on the left side of my spine. He gave me some muscle relaxers. I'm not going to lift any for the rest of this week, and hopefully it will be better by Sunday. I'm going to work on grippers the rest of the week.

Adam Moyers
Apr. 21st I decided to try a simulated contest tonight. It didn't go so great because I didn't have the patience to rest between events. It will be easier to do when I have to wait my turn. Grippers RH- #2.5, RB 240, BBSM about 1/8"-3/16" away LH- #1.5, #2 about 1/8"-3/16" away 2HP 125lbs, 136lbs, failed 146lbs Axle 230lbs, 250lbs, failed 273lbs 2" vbar RH- 175lbs, 195lbs, failed 210lbs LH- 135lbs, 155lbs, failed 175lbs Bending Bastard PR I would have got it in under 2 minutes, but I measured it and had to hit it again. The video is uploading. Shiny Bastard fail. I got it to 2 1/16". I will get this cert when I'm fresh. I've still got a few more weeks before the contest. Hopefully training will go well between now and then.

bencrush
Solid work Adam. I'm upping the meager volume of grip stuff that I was doing in the final 3 weeks until the contest. Spent about 6 hours training on the 19th with John Sandy. Then about 4 hours on the 22nd by myself. Very leisurely pace, but still a high workload. Here's where my kettlebell training is paying off in terms of lasting strength. I literally feel as strong after 4 hours as I did at the start of the workout. I did about 6 hours of training on the 27th. Best performances were a few closes with a 168lb and 170lb gripper right hand and 5 closes with a 154lb #3 left hand; a 250lb right hand and 260lb FBBC 2" vbar pull; 2 singles with 171lbs on the Mouse Pinch. No bending still and I won't do any before the contest either. Also did a 336lb converted Axle pull. It's not the real Axle that I traded away though. Very close in feel though. I should be around 350lbs at the contest unless I shit the bed, lol.
