you got a good idea and some solid pinch work

Today

Pinch training:

*Euro Pinch:

1*53.5 (118)

0*57.5 (126 3/4) --> I lifted it only the first 4-5 inches...

*Triple Hub:only 2" & 3" today

LH: 13kg (28.5) @2" ; 12kg (26.5) @3" :blink

then, after the sets i did with LH:

5*11kg (24 1/4) @2"

4*10kg (22) @3"

& tried some lifts with claw grip (I think i could be stronger with it, I will try it again)

RH: 14kg (31) @2" :( ; 16kg (35 1/4) @3" P.R. :rock

I tried to lift 17kg (37.5) with RH but I succeeded only the first 4-5 inches (like the Euro pinch)

I tried some extra stuffs too for the LH ( my weak point):

*I did some swings with the Hub from aft forward

*I took a soft tennis ball in my hand & tried to crush it with the tip of my fingers (without the thumb)

I think that my thumb is not the weak point. I need to strengthen the other fingers

Soon, I think that i'll make a sort of Titan's Telegraph Key™ (http://www6.mailordercentral.com/ironmind/...asp?number=1243) but a little bit modified to work essentially the fingers (not only the thumb).

Good training today with P.R.'s

*2H Euro Pinch:

53.5kg (118) OK

57.5kg (126 3/4) OK  (P.R.)

59.5kg (131) OK    (P.R. +4kg/+9lbs)

61.5kg miss (lifted the first 4-5inches)

--> I draw nearer of the 65kg (163) that I lifted at the SGC

*Triple Hub @ 2" et 3":

RH: 17kg (37.5)@2" P.R. & 18kg (39.5) @3" P.R.

MG: 13kg (28.5) @2" (P.R. equal) & 13kg @3" (28.5) (P.R.)

--> 14kg (31) @2" lifted the first 1-2 inches.

then, extra workout for left hand:

2 sets of 3 reps at 11kg (24 1/4) @2" & 3" (reps @2" & then @3")

Claw grip: 15kg (33) @2" & 3"

Swings at 4.5kg (10) @3": 3 sets of 8-7 et 5 swingings

*Pinch of a wooden trestle 2" of width ( trestle of 1.5" + 1 wooden borad of 0.5")

+ 6.3kg (14lbs) of chains suspended at horizontal bars which link the feet of the trestle. ~7kg (15.5lbs) for the whole

3 sets of 5/5 et 4 reps (LH only)

 2 difficulties: pinch only with the tips of fingers + the trestle & the board have a tendancy to slide one against the other.

*Crushings of tennis ball between palm and tips of fingers (without thumb): some sets with left hand.

I watched your 2" vbar video and am curious what the handle is made out of. Can't tell if it's steel or a textured material. Very good lifts regardless of material though.

Thank you Bencrush ;)

It's steel. It's a little bit rusty & with chalk, it's not slippery.

My father made a piece of steel which was tapped and soldered it on a steel pipe. Thanks to the tapping, I can screw the handle on the V-bar.

BTW, I bought a clamp today & I will modify it a little bit to make a clamp for pinching (for working my fingers)

YEAH those were some nice lifts,I def prefer thicker bars, gonna have to get one soon. I do love my rolling thunder and ironmind little big horn(lbh) that lbh will humble you fast though and so if you get one or fabricate one, dont expect v bar numbers

*V-bar 24mm:

RH: 104kg (229 1/4) P.R.

LH: 104kg (229 1/4) P.R.

*V-bar 48mm

RH: 97.5kg (215) P.R. , 100.5kg (221.5) P.R.

LH: 97.5kg (215) P.R. , 100.5kg (221.5) miss --> just 2"

RH & LH: 3 reps @ 92.5kg (204)

*Wrist curl: 3*15@22kg (48.5)

*Sledgehammer 8lbs (3.7kg) & 36": some Front, Rear, Side & Overhead levers (hand at 50cm/20")

I tried the Rolling Thunder at the Swiss Grip Comp and yes it's very difficult!

I have never tried the Little Big Horn. What's the law of it ? Have you a video of a LBH lift ?

thank you Joonas ;)

pinching yesterday, it was not an excellent training...

*Euro Pinch:

rise up to 53.5kg (118lbs) hard so stop :(

then, static sets: 3 sets of 10sec with 43kg (95lbs), 3*10sec with 47kg (103.5), 2*6sec with 51kg (112.5)

static sets were nice, I felt all muscles of forearms. I have tried to pinch just with the fingers & not to put the apparatus to the cavity between thumb & forefinger ( like that, I just train my fingers & I don't tear the skin at the base of the thumb)

*Triple Hub:

RH: 16kg (35 1/4) @2" ; 18kg (39.5) @3"

8 sec with 13kg (28.5) @2" followed by 17 sec @3"

LH: 14kg (30 3/4) @2" ; 14kg (30 3/4) @3"

5 sec with 13kg (28.5) @2" followed by 5 sec @3"

2 sets of 6 sec with 13kg (28.5) @3"

2 sets of swings with 8kg (17.5) @2" & @3"

*Clamp: some sets (10-15reps)

I have just received my HG grippers that I bought on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.fr/Set-of-3-HEAVY-GRIPS-HAND-GRIPPERS-250-300-350-lbs_W0QQitemZ360062112349QQihZ023QQcategoryZ16032QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZVi

ewItem ://http://cgi.ebay.fr/Set-of-3-HEAVY-G...QQcmdZViewItem

250 is a little bit easy (maybe 1.5-1.6) but it will be good for the left hand.

300 is very hard & 350 is a real monster :blink:bow

*Grippers:

RH: some reps with T, #1, HG250 & 1rep with #2 for warming up. Attempt with HG300 & OMG it's hard! missed of 0.5"(

LH: 8 reps with HG250. In fact, my HG250 is not a 1.5/1.6 like I said but maybe just a 1.2 :( . It is a little bit harder than my CoC #1...

+ some negatives for LH (with #2) & RH (with HG300)

*Overhead lever:

RH:

1 rep with 10 1/3lbs, pinky at 35.5"

5 reps with 8lbs, pinky at 31"

LH:

1 rep with 8lbs, pinky at 35.5"

2 reps with 8lbs, pinky at 31" (almost 3 reps)

+some front, rear & side levers

*Wrist Curl: 3*15 with 22kg (48.5)

*reverse wrist curl (1st time for me): 3*15 with 6kg (13.25lbs)

BTW, my V-bar is unsoldered for the moment :(

3 sets of 5sec with 13kg (28.5) @2"

*Triple Hub:

17kg (37.5) @2" & @3"

You are welcome Julien. :)

Congrats on the PR!!

Did you try various widths for the 2-hand pinch?

At your strength level you should do better so maybe its a width issue.

I'm loosing strength dramatically when the pinch width goes beneath a certain level.

Keep the nice training.

thx :):):)

I tried 56mm & 45mm. It's more comfortable with 45mm but it's not yet THE solution...

What's your pinch width when you're training ? always the same or you vary it sometimes ?

When doing 2-hand pinch training I'm using always my competition width of 64mm.

1-hand pinch I'm doing with different widths.
