Mitch1963
Dan predicted I would lift the Blob50 in three weeks or sooner and my reply was "that would be wishful thinking". Last night I pulled it to a foot off of the floor deloaded to 47.5lbs!! Previous best was 42.5. I then tried the negatives that guys on the gripboard had suggested. I couldn't believe that I could actually hold it for a short time. I love the blob and blockweight training. It really pumps the hands and forearms. Thanks everyone who had given me advice! Teemu I
Great progress Mitch! Now's the good time to really pound away on those negatives, as you can get holds already. Keep it up! Block weight work really pays off. One reason it becomes easier quickly is the fact that the chalk binds to the weight over time, giving more friction. That might have surprised you as well? But anyway, your progress is great, I don't think anyone does blob lifts without chalk. Edited October 11, 2007 by Teemu I

odin
Mitch, negatives and bounces will get you there, just get used to the feel of the 50. Progress is not linear, think of it as a spiral that dips up and down, but gradually rises over time. I lifted the 50 lb. Blob for the first time on 8/21, and still don't own it, some days I can't even do the 45. Over time, I expect that will change. One day it will pop right up, make sure you videotape every 50 lb. attempt from here on out. Mine came up after I'd already blasted my thumbs w/ TTk, etc. earlier in the workout.
