I don't know, I'd guess that the last part is not enforced to greatly but for something like a #4 close I'm sure they would enforce it pretty heavily

viper
seems i did break the rules then..didnt know anything about that - you guys will just have to view it on youtube then, ill say it's on my youtube in here when i upload it. Probably wont be for while though, im gonna have to wait to train my grip again 1st cuss of this torn skin an burn, but i dont plan on going for the #4 vid straight away, now that ive closed it i gotta look at the bigger picture. I made some good gains doing 2 finger closes for a couple sessions an then doing normal closes, so thats the plan, 3 sessions of 2 finger stuff, then singles on rb330 R / 300 left, 3 sessions of 2 fingers again, an then i will go for singles on #4 R / ccs rb300 L >thats the plan anyways, i dont know if my gains will stall or not, they have in the past with grippers, but i think i know why that was now so hopefully not edit - hahaha rules of the gripboard! have no idea how i missed that Edited November 10, 2007 by viper

viper
ive asked john if he could reserve a super (rb400) for us, i dont know exactly what they rate but if they are the same spec as my 300/330 (both nigh on identical), then it would rate about 4.5 i think >if thats right then im glad this gripper has been made, it's next on the list after the 365 ill only have protein powder at the end of the month, but im bulking again now, sick of the dieting, i need to get stronger - i definately feel like i need to have bigger forearms to reach some of my goals, wrist roller is definately one of the best ways to do that but my wrist roller dont fit in my power rack, so ima be getting an fbbc one at the end of the month to go with my 365 an super
viper
14/11/07 power jerk - 40kg warm up - 60kg x many singles seated dumbbell hammer press - 17.5kg x whatever - 20kg x 12 - 25kg x 10 - 32.5kg x 5 - 20kg x 10-15 alternate dumbbell curls - 20kg x 10-15 - 25kg x 5-6 - 20kg x 8-12 dumbbell laterals - upto 12.5kg x 8 incline dumbbell hammer press - 20 + 25kg x whatever dip machine - 75kg x whatever - 105kg x 8 - 117.5kg x 10-15 - 122.5kg x 12 - 122.5kg + extra resistence from random dude x 8 incline dumbbell flys - upto 15kg x 7 pushdowns - upto 50kg x 3 - drop 30kg x 8 i know this is stupid weak, but for me it's the strongest ive ever been so im pretty happy with it - think ima do power jerk instead of split cuss split is too slow..im worse than bad at actually power jerking though, i find it hard to catch it right, i did probably 15 singles today an caught only one of them properly (i always blast it too high an then catch it on the way down)
odin
14/11/07i know this is stupid weak, but for me it's the strongest ive ever been so im pretty happy with it Viper, keep up the good work; you're already very strong. Think how much stronger you'll be 10 and 20 years from now even if you just get a small % stronger each year. I think if you could get a job that was less taxing on your body it might help your training also, although some of the greats have gotten a lot of strength benefits through their vocation of choice. Those gripper videos are difficult to make, I messed around with it one day using some advice Clay had put in the FAQ I believe, and it's not easy to capture everything correctly. With the grippers you are closing, your equipment and skills in video are very important in capturing what you are doing. If I was as good with grippers as you are, I'd do whatever I could to videotape my progress in a way I could be proud of now and in the future. viper
cheers odin - compared to the average guy im strong, but i need to compare myself to the strongmen i see on tv cuss thats where im trying be down the road, an they are much stronger. I certainly plan to change that though, like you say in a decade from now it will be a different story, ive only been training for 2 years, thats a short time in the big picture. Ive been held back with injuries for pretty much all of this year, but my plan to be competing in britains or uk's strongest man in 2009. im not really too bothered about these videos on here, i will get clear vid of a #4 close somewhen, but at the end of day, im gonna have at least one dvd years from now, where im far an beyond stronger than what i am now, in that you'll see things that will make anything i produce now seem like nothing yeh my jobs overly taxing at times when im working all the time, like 2moz im doing 12 hours instead of having a day off, thats not the best, but ill get used to it eventually, an it really is a good thing, im getting payed to do strongman training

viper
sick of these bs gyms, get there an she says they close at 1pm, on a freakin saturday??? i didn't get there long before 12, so i had to rush through everything, didn't really have time to do 2 finger stuff anyways but i had too much stuff to bring all the grippers so just brought 1-3 an rb's, which went s h i t..my hands felt good today, so im not sure why that was. Maybe they get harder if the springs are cold? (the gyms like 90 yrs old an an ice box) i know they get easier if there hot, they felt stiff an i was pretty strong otherwise so seems a bit odd. Happy to pull 95k! couldn't get it again but didn't expect to do it at all. I didnt count the pins cuss i was rushing, but the squats were only like a 1/4 squat, basically my idea with this squat programme is to stress the body was a big weight, always walking out with it, an gradually increase the depth i squat over a lengthy period. The problem again is the bs gym, it's the only gym around here with a power rack, an the pins are like 6in apart or something, so it's a massive drop to the next one down. I dont plan on training at gyms for a lot longer though, im looking into buying some type of metal shed or farm building type structure, will be about 3 x 4m, to go under the 4 carport we have at the house here. I already have most of the stuff i want here, power rack, bench etc i just cant go heavy or drop any weights or anything in my room, having my own little gym outside would be awesome. viper
18/11/07 tough day in work today, heaviest rolls to wind on an the toughest carry ive ever done (folded up carpet held infront), it was only probably 60k or so, but it's so big an hard to grip it makes it heavy, the guy also wanted it to be wrap'd with the plastic, so it was extra slippy, an then it was raining outside to make it worse haha i couldn't open my left hand up for a minute or so afterwards hammer strength deadlift - upto 310kg 3 x 3 romanian deadlifts - upto 120kg 3 x 3 pull ups - bw x 3 over - bw + 5kg x 3 over - bw + 5kg x 3 hammer - bw + 8kg x 3 hammer - bw + 12.5kg x 3 hammer seated dumbbell hammer press - 15kg x whatever - 20kg x 10 - 25kg 3 x 10 dumbbell concentration curls - upto 32.5kg x 5-6 each hand + 20kg rep set alternate curls incline dumbbell hammer press - 25kg rep sets dumbbell laterals - upto 12.5kg x 6-7 dips - bw x 8 - bw + 6kg x 5 - bw + 8kg x 5 - bw + 10kg x 5 dip machine - 112.5kg 2 x 10 giant set (couple laps) of cable cross over, pushdowns, ab machine - 80k on ab an 40k on others this was again beltless cuss i didnt plan it an back feels good, no pain - hopefully i can now work upto 400k on the HS deads (simulates car/van deadlift) like i was doing before the injury
Paul Savage
(decided to change to my real name, didn't really like viper much anyways) oh yeah, Burkhard Macht pm'd me asking if i wanted to do the european championships in germany next year - i have no idea if i will or not cuss he didn't answer any questions, he's just not replied so i donno what to make of that, i even msg'd again to check he got my last msg, an still no reply >why ask someone if they want to do something, an then give them no details of what it actually is? seems a bit pointless, the only thing he really said is it's in august. I dont know the cost, the date, if any other brits are going, the events, or even past events or who the champ is. Im not even 100% on the brits next year, ill have to improve massively for the brits, so ive not had one thought about doing european championships. Paul Savage
20/11/07 grippers - #2 SH2 x bunch each hand - 06 SH #3 2 x 1 each hand - #4 SH 3 x 1 each hand - #3.5 SH 3 x 1 each hand - 06 #3 20mm block singles each hand - hg500 negs / spring held attempts each hand i wasn't really looking for the close on the spring held stuff, dont know if i shut em all or not, just crushing as hard as possible got the hg500 to 1/4in spring held an held it at 1/8 without holding a number of times - the hard part for me is setting it, i just cant get all my fingers on it properly cuss the handles are so big, if i could do that it would make a huge difference, i was so close to getting the set done loads of times but just couldn't quite do it, ill have to try after squats
