I agree that being able to hook grip an axle is just crazy! I was going to do a contest down in his neck of the woods but it was cancelled due to lack of interest...too bad it would have been fun. climber511 Posted February 5, 2007 Share Posted February 5, 2007 Be sure it's an actual 2" bar like the IM Axle is - a lot of the lifts I hear about are done on 1 1/2" pipe which is actually 1.9". That's good for at least 10 - 15# for me. And somehow "hook" gripping an Axle is just wrong! Nice job Matt! Well I pulled 370# at Atomic's Picnic the night before and Brian "the world's strongest cheif"Pulled 380 that was on the black daimond bar thats knurled though that makes a big difference to. What are your numbers Chris I know their higher than mine. Eli Keiner pulled 440# to close to lockout here at the first Gripmas after a very long day of grip feats. I've pretty much reached the point where my grip is stronger than my dead lift most of the time on the Axle. Until I can raise my back strength, I'm just stuck. Could be some errors there. Matt Graham did 500 or so, but used a hook grip. hehe I was there competing against odd in that competition, hehe that was fun... It was from a challenge they were having over at Grippermania. I clicked on the link over there and it had been removed. I guess in this one he was going for 440. BUT, we're grip guys so we are talking about a double overhand grip, he used an alternate grip. Impressive, yes, perhaps one of the best I can think of, but...
