Left Side's Training

Left Side

Recommended Posts

He's my best friend, big guy, very big hands. Name's Josh Bone. He's not whoopin' me really. I can outpinch him, and he can't close the GM, which I have, but he kicks my ass on the ISG and block lift. Not interested in training, just naturally strong.

Hostel, watch it and see I guess. There were some parts that made me flinch.

Just got a new Ivanko Super Gripper, it's nice. Could do 6-8, my friend could do 8-10, which was too hard for me. He doesn't even train either.

What is a repectable close on this thing?

Setting 6 and 8 = 176.67lbs

Setting 8 and 10 = 253.88lbs

I think my best is setting 2 and 12 which = 218.75lbs

Your friend is a beast. Whats the biggest gripper he can close ?

He can close the Super Master without diffculty, chalk or warmup. He can't do the HG300 though, yet. Like I said, too lazy to train, so much potential.

Given what he can crush, I was rather surprised at how good he was at that ISG.

I know a guy like that who does hard wood floors all day. The one time I gave him a #2 he shut it and looked at me like I was crazy for thinking it was cool.

I really don't understand the ISG, it's like math and stuff.

Bone could be a MONSTER. He has such large hands and big bon es genetics, he could be so big.

I wouldnt put it past him, I could see him getting better by doing very low volume, just make sure he tears it up when you do see one another in the gym and giver a go!

He would back when i was there! Remember that!

ISG, excited to get mine Left Side!!!

Does the 7 inch stuff throw you off like it does me ?

btw...That is not a shit bending workout at all Bro.

I'm impressed. I still cannot seem to finish off a 6" x 5/16" cut of round HRS.

With grippers, its all about the variety. Now that I have more variety I am getting strong fast.

Im feeling your finger pain, thats why I dont bend much anymore. I have a huge whole in my hand from a week or so ago from bending, Im not gonna bend for a couple months I dont think.

Not a shit workout, just no IMPROVEMENT. Go back to volume and change fingers.

Exactly. I am going back to G8 volume, and I have to find some more 5/16 HRS, somewhere. As for switching fingers, tried it, not working for me.

Travis I have no problem adjusting to 7" steel, unless of course, we are talking about a red nail, then I've got big problems.

Isn't volume w/ g9's expensive?

BigT I was mad as hell I didn't close it, I've gotten weaker.

Ox I bought a box of 100 G8's and another box of 100 G5's for about $120, bending ain't cheap.

You dont get weaker, your in the wrong state of mind... Either you didnt have enough rest, or you werent all mentally there.. The strength is there, now get your damn head into it. Rest is JUST as important as training!

Awsome job on that 2hp, gives me something to think about working harder on!

What the hell is 2hp???

And the CRS I refer to is that shiny stuff we were talking about, I don't know what it really is, but you rated it just below a red so I'll call it cold rolled.

Nice job on the 45 hub lift Jonathan, Stewart Sentinal works with an Ivanko and does some very respectable numbers:

Gripping day today.

Ivanko Super Gripper

1 sets of 3 reps @ 9/12 (323 pounds) fully open to fully closed.

6 sets of 6 reps @ 9/12 (323 pounds) fully open to fully closed.

**Rest was 2.25 minutes between sets.**

COC #3

6 sets of 3 reps @ MMS to fully closed.

**Hold shut on 3rd rep. Rest was 2.25 minutes between sets.**

I know, but looking to Stalwart for a relative scale is like judging my deadlift next to Gary Frank.

I can commiserate....
