Those are simply pony clamp closes w/ the thumb on one handle the the remaining fingers on the other..very much like a pinching motion. To increase the resistance you can add rubber bands at the top where the ends meet.

Multi-day workouts. Hands starting to feel a little of the strain. Tomorrow they will be nice and sore.... still, a strong workout for me considering the months off with no workout. Trying to work back up to my #3 LH and Elite RH.

Workout seemed a bit easier tonight so I increased the number of sets by 25%. For some reason, when I close grippers (or do negatives) at the #3 level and beyond I get this blister in the center of my palm. I haven't figured out why yet...it's kind of a pain (both figuratively and literally). Well, tonight I lost a chunk of skin from that area. Painful and annoying...but it comes with the territory.

Just a quick question about the order of your training. Are you completing your workout in the order listed here (RH workout first followed by a LH workout) or are you mixing RH and LH work together? (ie. warm-up right hand with the Trainer, then warmup left hand with the Trainer)

Hope this question doesn't sound too silly. :D The only reason I ask is because I've always worked both hands by doing one set for the RH followed by a set for the LH and so on. Do you find this type of work increases total work capacity of your hands?

No, I don't train each hand independently. I alternate. The order of the sets is accurate, I just list them by hand because it is much easier than typing them in order specifying the hand with each one. Good question.

Getting closer on that Elite once again. It frustrates the heck outta me that I used to be able to close it at almost at will and now it continues to escape me with fractions of an inch. I'm gaining ground on it...so hopefully it won't be long.

Thanks Ben! I look forward to closing it again. I can't believe I never videoed it back then. I was looking back through my grip vids and I don't have any of my Elite closes. Even Gator brought his over and I failed to tape that close as well...I guess I just didn't think about it. That's ok though, I'll get this one again soon enough and get it on tape this time. I also have a new one I haven't closed yet so that'll be a nice PR when it finally goes down. :cool

I managed a nice PR today. I finally closed my filed #3, which happens to be my hardest, with a set. Before I was only able to close it with a choker. I also closed my filed BBSM LH for another nice PR. Good times.
