Some light gripper work to bang off the rust that was apparently there at the contest this weekend. Still not feeling real strong in the crush department. Hopefuly that changes before the MM1 attempt. :o

Woo Hoo!! I FINALLY shut this dang Elite! I just saw it there and had a feeling and decided to give it a try. I've been so close so many times, but this time.. it finally fell!

Bombed yet again on a gripper (MMG1) that I should have closed. Bummer. :( Oh well.

Woo Hoo! Nice PRs for pinching. Not bad considering I haven't done any since back in July. I will definately hit my goal of 2x45lbs this year. All lifts were to lockout or were counted as a miss. I did break ground on 2x35lbs LH (for a PR) but for me counts as a miss unless it's a lockout. And before anyone asks.. no, the plates have not been calibrated. :ohmy

All extra weight was added via magnet(s) that weigh next to nothing, so was not included in the totals.

Yeah, that was great! When I was halfway training pinch back in July, I broke 2x35lbs off the ground twice.. once about 1/2" and another time about 1". I haven't trained pinch since then so I really didn't expect to even be able to budge them but then twice to full lockout!? I was really happy. I guess it kinda made up for missing the MMG1, but not quite.

I had never previously lifted my Blob35 either.. and today to do it with 7.5lbs attached via magnet was a sweet feeling as well.

Nice. Greg, were you guys using the York 35lb that came from me? If so those are nasty lifts; that York was SLIPPERY! It was the only York I ever "seasoned" with chalk. For not training pinch much at all these are respectable lifts, and no mistake.

Thanks Jeremy. Yep, we were using the 35 I got from you. That thing is slippery as the devil. After lifting with that, I gave the Blob50 replica from GordonV a half-hearted lift attempt and that thing felt like it had sandpaper on the outside of it compared to that 35. It was WAY more textured, but compared to my other Blobs, the replica's texture was pretty close to on par. That thing is slick, do doubt. The problem I have now is that I don't have anything between a 35 and a 47.5. I'll have to find something out there.

Not sure if I shoud go to the 37.5 next or right to the 40. Thoughts, anyone?

Feeling quite a bit better today, although my crush is still down a bit. That's probably from the lack of volume lately. That's okay though, my focus is turning more toward other grip training.

Well, today marks my one year anniversary since I first ever trained grip. Over the course of the past year, I have really only trained grippers with an exception of about two weeks or so last July I trained pinching a little bit.

To be honest, I didn't expect to be closing grippers at this level today. When I started, I could close the Trainer and a couple of reps on the #1. Of course, that was no set because I had no idea what a set was. To have moved from the #1 to closing my Elite (once) within one year is astonishing to me. I whole heartedly expected to still be working toward the #2 or BBSM at the one year mark. For any of you out there still working toward your goals, keep on them. Don't give up or slack off. Your hard work and dedication will pay off if you stick with it.

Congratulations on having such a successful year Greg. I for one find inspiration in your words. I have been stuck from closing my GM at 1/8 of an inch for the last 2 months. The good news is my left hand is catching up and I've made good progress with blobs. Perhaps I should have focused just on closing grippers, but like the proverbial kid in the candy store I wanted to try it all.

Again Kudos on your success and may many more PR's be in your future.

No man, better to have a well rounded grip than crush only.
I agree. I wish that I started training other aspects of my grip sooner. I fell I would be much farther along in the other areas and less open to injuries with my other muscles so "under-developed" compared to the ones used for grippers.

Thanks for the encouragement guys. It's stuff like that that kept me training the whole year.
