philthy
I got a tec spring dynamometer today I bought it used.. I tested myself a few times the most i got was 120lbs So then i tied a string to my 25lbs dumbell and held up the dynamometer and it said 13lbs so it's definitely not calibrated correctly. Later when i get a bigger string i'm gonna weigh my 45lbs dumbell with it and see what that comes up. I was thinking i could get a rope and bring the dynamometer to the gym with me and figure out how much weight it takes for it to say 100 or 120 so i can figure out the real number. What do you think? Revtor
Hey Philthy, you can draw a graph where the real weight is on the left (vertical) axis, and the indicated (false) weight is on the bottom (horizontal) axis.. Plot two or three points (25 lbs, 45 lbs, 90 lbs for example) and when you join the dots with a smooth curve from the zero point, that will probably be pretty accurate across the whole range of the machine.. does this make sense? I dont know how far your meter goes up to but this may be easier than trying to string 200 lbs to your machine.. ~Steve
