Awesome!! Are you going to reopen the cert thread once this is available so Chad will have a shot at it? When will it be done? Is Warren going to take special care of this one to insure a proper spread and whatnot? It seems like his latest grippers have varied and a few with some defects.

Tetting has the specs for the MM7 per our request. Tetting knows the MM grippers are a special breed and he gives exact build up to our specs. In addition to the specs Bill has already given, the inside handle width will be 2.75 inches. I should have the gripper within a week from today. I will tell Bill when I have it and he can then announce it on the Board. Thanks

The cert thread is closed until I catch up. Eric has been a darn maniac with running the certs. :D I am SIX profiles behind and need to get things updated on the Mashmonster.com site.

Thanks also goes to our sponsors and donators because that's how these grippers get paid for. :rock

At this moment the MMG7 is set. However, I am in discussion with Tetting for the potential need of an MM8. This may call for a search of a springwire with a specific measurement. One that is not common to the gripper world. Cost may be a prohibitive factor though to fully customize an MM8. However, there is a backup plan for the MM8 if my idea for a new springwire can not be found.

Is it a surprise Rick? Or is it something that will be discussed when ready? You're going to wait until the MM7 is closed then I assume?

It will be a .312 with 1/8 mount.

The lord of the grippers. (lord of the rings)

The plan of a new gripper was drawn in mordor. Forged deep in the fires of mount doom. One gripper to rule them all?

MM8 is on the back burner. :) But planning for it has begun. When the MM7 level has multiple certs, then we go for MM8. I will say the MM8 has two configurations to choose from. Both will be doable

Also tell us if a fundraiser or anything is needed to bring this to life. I can't speak for anyone else, but I would donate to the specific cause of bringing this to life.

True, but what about the MM8, the MM9 and possibly the MM10? The way things are going with Chad and now Paul - things are really pumping for the Mash Monster certs in '09!! Who'd have thought??? ;):laugh

The gripper is on it's way to Eric.

It turned out to to be a .312 at 3/16" and handle width 2 5/8". Now the handle does not look narrower than the 2.75 it was supposed to be. That's ok. Maybe it will be a better increment with a slightly narrower handle by 1/8".

Thanks for Rick (zcor) for getting the gripper done and doing all that leg work.

As far as helping pay for the grippers in the future, you can do that by either becoming a member of the Contributor Groups or purchasing KTA which also supports the board.

I'm confused. It's the same GE spring with the same mount as MM6, but with a slightly narrower spread? Sounds like MM5.5 instead of MM7.

What am I missing?
